Ibanez PIA3761-SLW Steve Vai PIA Signature

The PIA is the latest electric guitar resulting from a long-standing collaboration between the one and only Seve Vai and Ibanez. The PIA3761 is an evolution of the legendary JEM model, adapted to the artist's current tastes. Despite the similar form factor, there are many new features here. The alder body provides a firmer sound with a more pronounced upper range. The characteristic "monkey grip" has been replaced by a "petal grip" pattern and the "Tree of life" inlays on the fingerboard by a "Pia blossom" motif. The neck, with its slightly fuller profile, deviates slightly from the classic Wizard but remains fast and ergonomic. The PIA3761 also received the latest DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups with a slightly smoothed sound. The proven Edge tremolo design also returns in the latest incarnation of the signature model. The guitar is of course manufactured in Japan by the J. Craft Team. A hard case is included.

The newly designed PIA Blossom inlay is gorgeous, prominent, and elegantly imparts Steve Vai’s trademark style and artistic vision.

Petal Grip

Exclusively designed for the PIA, the new Petal Grip offers a balanced, contemporary design aesthetic. It’s also meant to symbolize unity, companionship, and interpersonal bonds.

DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups

Based on Steve's latest tonal preferences, DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups are voiced for smoother highs, more scooped mids, and more pronounced low-end. The pickups incorporate beautiful aesthetics and design elements meant to complement the cosmetic features of the guitar.

Edge Tremolo

The Edge tremolo bridge and groundbreaking Lion's Claw tremolo cavity allow for rapidly increasing and lowering pitch with dramatic range and an intense voice.

Magnetic Tremolo Cavity Plate

The tremolo cavity plate is held in place magnetically, allowing for quick removal and reinstallation when changing strings or adjusting the tremolo system.
