Gibson Firebird V 2014 Heritage Cherry
The Gibson Firebird V is a fine-tuned version of the classic Gibson design. With its reverse body style & 1950's type automobile tailfins, Gibson's Firebird V is as radical as the 1963 model. Today's Firebird V faithfully reproduces the neck-through-body construction that made the originals legendary. This model is powered by a pair of updated high-output, ceramic mini-humbuckers with ceramic magnets for added punch and clarity, to retain all the enhanced high-end character for which the original Firebird was designed, but with added muscle for 21st century players. They are routed through the traditional three-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls. The body is consists of mahogany wings on a 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through body. The fingerboard is Grade-A rosewood with 22 frets, pearloid trapezoid inlays with 120th Anniversary banner at the 12th fret and neck binding. Other key features include a 1960 Slim Taper neck carve thats offers hours of fatigue-free playing with it's slim and fast profile but with an appealing roundness that sits beautifully in your hand. Steinberger™ gearless tuners with an amazing 40:1 turns ratio have been added, Tune-O-Matic bridge & Stop Bar tailpiece rounds out the hardware all plated in chrome for a professional and durable finish. This beauty sports a gorgeous Heritage Cherry Nitrocellulose finish that is quite elegant.
