These mallets are especially popular for those percussionists who play modern, contemporary, and syncopated pieces.
The core of the mallet head is made of hardwood (beech or maple), wrapped in a thin (2mm) layer of rubber, and covered with a single layer of high-quality high-density German felt. The shaft is constructed from carefully selected hardwoods (maple or birch) and is covered with a silicone anti-vibration sleeve to increase control and enhance comfort.
